I have to admit I was a little afraid of talking to him, or giving her too much attention/talking to her, since he was so drunk.

(Cheers about the comment box stuff - lots of little things need to change - getting there, though!)

In similar situations I've spoken to the girl and asked if she's with the guy, and if she's
okay. Every time I've done it, the girl has said 'yes' to at least the second question, and
the guy has invariably given me a hard time (or at least a shitty look) for asking.

Personally if my gf looked that fucked-up then I'd welcome anyone taking a friendly
interest in making sure she was happy with me looking after her - although obviously
I wouldn't be molesting her when she was unconscious anyway.

By the way, your comment box here doesn't seem to word-wrap.

For my part, I once saw a guy on the tube who had either died or had a serious medical problem. He was slumped over almost horizontal in his seat as the train pulled in, and when the doors opened it became obvious through smell alone that he had lost control of his bowels in spectacular fashion.

To my enduring shame, I - like everybody else on that rush-hour platform - just got off the train again and let it go on its journey with a potentially dead guy alone in the otherwise-empty last carriage. Despite all my first-aid and rescue training, my mind just went blank and my only reaction was to follow the herd.

You should be proud that you did something to help. When I was in the same position, I did nothing.

Thanks for the comments, ladies. I was shocked more than anything, but now thinking about it a few days on am so glad I plucked up the courage to say something, because for a while I wasn't really sure.

I whitnessed something like that once, and before I even had to say anything my boyfriend had already intervened. Personally I think it's a disgrace that any man could sit there and whitness that happening to a woman and not do anything about it.

Well done Serena! You did the right thing!

This is awful and I think you did absolutely the right thing. Shame on the other guy but I can understand him not risking getting beaten up. X
